Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 21, 2026
At TravTrac.app, I believe your travel data belongs to you. Because I built this tool to solve my own travel budgeting problems, I treat your data with the same respect I expect for my own.
1. Data Collection & Authentication
- Sign-In: We use Firebase Authentication to manage secure access. You may choose to sign in via Google or by using an email and password. In both cases, your credentials are encrypted and managed by Google's secure infrastructure; we do not see, store, or have access to your passwords.
- Email Communication: We use your email address via Brevo to send essential service updates, trial notifications, and feature announcements. You can unsubscribe at any time.
2. How Your Trip Data is Handled
- Storage: Your trip entries, budgets, and financial dates are stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore).
- Purpose: This data is used solely to provide you with the burn-rate analysis and budget tracking features of the app.
- No Third-Party Sales: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or trip history to advertisers or third parties.
- Community Data Sharing (Optional): If you explicitly opt-in via the Trip Profile, you are choosing to contribute anonymous, aggregated spend averages (e.g., average daily spend by location and travel style) to the TravTrac community. This data is strictly anonymous and stripped of personal identifiers before being shared to help other travellers plan their adventures. This is entirely optional and can be toggled at any time within your trip settings. Your permission applies to the each specific trip.
3. Data Portability & Deletion
- Export Tool: You can export your raw trip data and analysis at any time.
- User-Initiated Deletion: You may delete your account and all associated trip data directly within the app at any time.
- Administrative Deletion: As per our Inactive Account Policy, data for inactive trial or expired accounts may be purged after 24 months if no new trips have been created following a trip's "Travel End Date". This does not apply to Lifetime access.
4. Cookies & Analytics
- We use minimal technical cookies required to keep you logged in and to ensure the app functions correctly.
- We do not use intrusive cross-site tracking or third-party advertising cookies.
5. Security
While I leverage Google’s enterprise-grade infrastructure (Firebase) to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. I encourage all users to use the export feature to maintain personal backups of their travel records.
- You will never be asked for any bank account details.
- You will never be asked to link the App to any of your bank accounts.
- The App will automatically log out of your account after a specific number of days of inactivity for your security. You can log back in at any time with your original authentication method (Google or Email) to resume your trip.
6. Contact
If you have questions about how your data is handled, you can reach me directly by sending an email to support@travtrac.app.
